Bookslut posted this link. Thoughts? I'm still looking forward to hearing from our newest members. :-)

Pshaw, author's intent! Cathie would be not be amused.

Here are parts that interested me:

BURNS: "I guess what I am saying is I am not making a judgement about the characters; I am just presenting things to the reader to examine in order to come to his own conclusions."

Is that possible? Can an author ever be completely disassociated? Removed?

BURNS: "I am really more concerned about examining the characters themselves. You know, what they’re going through and how they’re coming up at the other end of this trial that they’re going through."

This is why I had so many concerns with the plot -- he's focussing on character, and here I am (and Eunice too, I believe) wanting more foundation info.

BURNS: "Just the idea of a disease that affects only teenagers, it’s kind of a ridiculous idea in the first place, adolescence as a disease."

But you have to admit, teenagers, especially boys, tend to be rather disgusting. Or, at least, really smelly.

I was just coming over to post an article of related interest myself -- Neil Gaiman, my favorite Brit-living-in-the-US, writes about talking about turning Black Hole into a film on a recent blog entry.
