I read it. It's riddled with cartoon-bubble conversations, which, if you ask me, is distracting. Every page was pretty crowded. I'm curious about the opera, however.
I read it when it first came out and was not impressed. Like our favorite JoBiv, I found it crowded and busy and dare I say boring. I'm not even really curious about the opera, either. Am I a bad hedgehog?

Well, I don't know how ideal it was for Sendak to make a picture book out of an opera and then turn that picture book back into an opera.
If only all the world was put through a Sendak filter!
